Computational Fluid Dynamics - CFD
Modern methods of computational fluid dynamics enable a 3D-understanding of complex flow phenomena which can not be achieved or only with high efforts in experiments. Generally, they are based on the numerical solution of the underlying transport equations with the most recent CFD-Codes and powerful computer technique.
Flow simulations are no longer restricted to the computation of simple fluid or gas flows. The development of increasingly more complex models for very different physical processes continuously expands the application areas of CFD-methods. Examples for this are given with the coupling of various flow problems with structure mechanical issues on one hand and with thermal, chemical or biological processes on the other hand.
Within the extent of simulations of fluid flow or coupled physical-chemical-biological processes for our clients, we offer a detailed analysis of the problem at the beginning, the generation of a numerical model incorporating the customer's CAD-data, efficient computations and parameter studies and a systematic evaluation and discussion of the simulation results. In addition, practical recommendations for a flow-related optimisation of the apparatus and the processes involved are given and the optimised device or system is delivered to the customer in a CAD-compatible way.
ASD has special competences in the application of CFD methods to complex and interdisciplinary tasks. Our sophisticated flow simulations deliver valuable input to product development in the following branches, but are not restricted to these:
| Medial device technology | Clean room technology |
| Biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry | Environment technique |
| Process engineering | Microsystems engineering |
| Ventilation and air-conditioning industry | General engineering |
Under "Simulation inACTION" on our website you find a selection of impressive examples of the capacity and the broad spectrum of CFD applications performed at ASD!
