Structural mechanics - FEM
Beside the modern methods of CFD for flow simulations, ASD also uses the Finite Element Method - FEM to analyse complex problems concerning the behaviour of structural elements and solid bodies.
Using the most up-to-date computational equipment and powerful FE software, a wide range of structure-mechanical applications from medical and general engineering areas are dealed with.
Based on 3D-CAD data delivered by the customer, numerical three-dimensional models are generated which describe the problem with all relevant details of the real system. Using these models, both static and dynamic analyses as well as analyses of natural and forced vibrations are performed. For all theses applications, non-linear geometrical and/or material behaviour can be considered. FEM is perfectly suited for the optimisation of structural components and for comparative investigations of different design variants.
As a result of the Finite Element Analysis - FEA, all mechanical parameters and properties like displacements, deformations, stresses, comparative stresses, relative displacements of interacting componentes, contact stresses and forces as well as temperature distributions can be predicted. With a vibration analysis, both the frequencies of natural vibrations and the amplitudes of forced vibrations are calculated. The results of the comprehensive analyses can be presented conceptionelly well by impressive 3D animations.
The entire project procedure is performed in close contact with the customer and includes the competent execution of the analysis as well as the detailed interpretation and discussion of the simulation results according to the desired and specified objectives.
