Thermal Solar Systems
Thermal solar systems have been in operation all around the globe for decades already. Utilized for domestic hot water preparation, the main design criteria in the past was to produce robust, inexpensive plants. New challenges arising from international climate protection aims require an improvement of the technical performance of solar systems. Modern buildings will largely be heated and air-conditioned by thermal solar systems even in the moderate climate of Germany. To reach this goal, complex systems consisting of solar collectors, heat storages as well as conventional heating and air-conditioning units need to be developed. ASD GmbH optimises these systems hand in hand with partners from the solar industry to conform with future requirements.
The aim of computer-aided simulations in the field of solar thermal technology is to apply advanced knowledge to the area of system development in an effective manner and to design technical optimised, economic products.
Apart from applying numerical fluid- and structural simulation ASD provides the know-how to link the interactions between different physical problems and their solution in accurate models. The evaluation of results out of these investigations allow deep insights into a system which could otherwise only be gained through time-intensive experimental studies.
As a final result, numerical simulations assist in the optimisation of the single system component as well as of a whole solar thermal system with efficient parameter studies and their impressive visualization. With the help of the generated virtual prototypes we accelerate the product development of our customers and improve the economical effectiveness of their products.
