Cleaning Systems
General - Depending on its area of usage, cleaning systems may have very different designs and functionalities. What they all have in common is the usage of fluids, washing the surfaces to be cleaned.
Aim of the designing and optimisation of cleaning equipments is mostly the reduction of the required resources during operation ensuring simultaneously the requested cleaning effect.
Using CFD methods, these systems can be analysed and optimised. Following flow features can be considered:- laminar and turbulent fluid flow- dispersed flows and sprays- abrasive particle loads- impingment jets- any kind of thermal processes (convective and diffusive heat transfer, radiation, evaporation, condensation, ...) - drying processes- cavitation- spatial varying UV doses
As an outcome, the simulation results provide a more detailed understanding of the complex 3D flow processes allowing a purposeful optimisation.
